September Meeting Chesapeake Sports Club
The Sports Club of Chesapeake held its monthly meeting at the Chesapeake Conference Center. Members of City Council, School Board and Chesapeake School Administration were in attendance to celebrate the induction of Dr. Randolph Nichols into the Chesapeake Sports Club Legends of Honor. Dr. Nick, as he is affectionately called, is the 45th recipient of the Club's Legends of Honor award. His many accomplishments include the appointment of a full time athletic director, academic requirements for sports participation, and the introduction of the sportsmanship pledge for high school athletes. Dr. Nichols and his wife Susan have been married for 51 years.
Joe Faulk of Little Joe's Automotive introduced guest speaker Joe Moore, the voice of the Motor Racing Network. Mr. Moore's first Daytona race was in 1979, where he worked the broadcast booth with Mike Joy and Barney Hull. Joe's great voice can be heard on radio station WTAR every Sunday during racing season broadcasting for the Motor Racing Network.
